On the Bear Blog Community

In the past three days since I signed up with Bear Blog, I've been reading a lot blogs from the discover feed and I have been really enjoying it. I loved it so much that I added the entire Discover page to my RSS reader to get all updates in one app. The demographics of the community is also very interesting. From what I deduce as I traverse the blogs, many are from the tech industry, and are from a wide age range, mainly from Gen Alpha to Gen X. When I started with personal blogging in the early to mid 2000s, a good chunk were Millennials escaping the "real world". Or maybe, that was just the circle I was in.

Most of the blogs I came across have the "old school" vibe of the blogging era of the 2000s before sales pitch blogging became very abundant -- (emdash not AI) posts that are personal opinions, personal outlook and not some marketing sales pitch. It's both refreshing and familiar.

It's a community though that you don't just come across if you are not into personal blogs. You have to actively be looking for a blog host beyond Wordpress, Medium and Substack to find it.
